Husky TE 450 test ride review, Well, lets start with a great thanks to my good friends Dave and Kurt at Bike Barn Motorcycles in Medford, OR for letting me take there 2008 Husky TE450 out on a three day tour ride with Jeff Moffet of Oregon Motorcycle Adventures. I was set to ride my 2007 Husaberg FE450 with a friend of mine and at the last minute another friend was interested in going and needed a bike to ride. I called Dave at Bike Barn and asked if a Husaberg was being demoed that I could ride for the weekend. Of course I would have preferred to ride a berg since i was letting my buddy ride mine. So after talking with Dave and finding out they only had the Husky to loan me i was bummed and thought well lets try the husky and see what its like. My first thought was the Husky feels like my Berg as far as seat height and where I sat on the seat. Dave showed me around the the bike the morning of the ride and got me up to speed with starting it with no choke (very cool) and how the Speedo/ Odo worked. After waiting for the other 9 riders to get ready to go on our three day ride, I was itchy to ride the Husky and see how it handled. Finally we left the shop and hit the road...First impression; nice power and smooth shifting, all i had to do was hang on and enjoy the ride. I rode for about 25 mins to our first stop and adjusted the handle bars forward a bit and that was all i needed to feel at home. From then on, the bike was smooth and handled much like my berg which made me happy. We rode mostly dirt roads, some single track, and pavement and at all times, the bike felt great and handled the different routes awesome. We rode about 500 miles over the three days and the Husky TE450 never once gave me any troubles and ran awesome. I have been riding dirt bikes for 30 years and haved owned many brands of bikes and a few older Huskys in the day and i would have to say even though i love my Berg i would ride a husky any day. Great bike for tour rides (needs a bit bigger fuel tank for trips over 60 miles)or for tearing up the tight trails. The Husky was also ridden by 4 other riders during the three days and they all have plenty of years riding bikes and all said they really enjoyed the Husky 450 and wanted to ride it most of the day. They all said it handled great and had awesome power. So i would have to say that if you are thinking about looking into this bike as your next bike you will be very happy with it and have loads of fun...much like we did.
Kurt and Dave are awesome guys and really believe in their bikes. They stand behind the products and also ride what they sell, which is important to me. So, thats my take on the Husky TE 450 2008. Thanks again Dave and Kurt for helping me out and lending me a great bike.
Tim
Here are some photos of their ride...unfortunately Dave and I couldn't make this trip, looks like an amazing one though. Tim, is easily an Expert level rider who enjoys haulin' ass...If you happen to see a Husaberg wheelieing(sp?) by you at over 60 mph, that is likely him...

A little commentary by Bike Barn...We have to add another comment about the above pictured rider...Tireless Joe...probably the nicest and most dedicated OHV user you will come accross...he's there no-matter what the situation, helps tirelessly with events, helps out whenever any one needs a lending hand and is always in good spirits....here he is running sweep for the above articled dual-sport trip, lately he's been marking for the MRA dual-sport ride, and soon will be helping with the MRA Poker Run. This guy does it all and never complains about it. Oh yeah, he has his own business to run (FORT Heavy Equipment Repair, has many kids and grandkids, and is loved by everyone who knows him...GREAT GUY! GREAT FRIEND!
